Photo riporting: Handicraft Exhibition/Fair in the Zoroastrian Ladies’ Organization

 Amordad correspondent, Ashkan Khosrowpour: The 4th exhibition/fair of the Zoroastrian Ladies’  ganization took place on 20th day 1387 (9th January 2009) in the Iradj Hall. 
In this one-day  xhibition Zoroastrian Ladies exhibited their new and traditional handcrafts, which was very well  eceived by our coreligionists.  Amordad camera was also present in this gathering, to take  ictures of the exhibition.

In this exhibition which started from 9:30 am and lasted till 4:30 pm, Zoroastrians of Tehran visited the different stalls having foodstuff, clothes and handicraft that were displayed by Zoroastrian ladies, for sale.

 

Traditional foodstuff, clothes, embroidery, the Zoroastrian calendar and other handicraft were a few examples of the many kinds of items that were displayed.

 

According to one of the organizers of this exhibition, from now onwards it will be held once every three months.

 

The only condition that the Zoroastrian Ladies’ Organization has put is that participants should be Zoroastrian, and those who are not members of the Organization can also participate and exhibit their work.

 

Participants of this exhibition displayed their art, at a time when unfortunately there is not a proper value given to art and among the Zoroastrian community.

 

The exhibition for sale of handicraft organized by Zoroastrian Ladies’ Organization will be held once every three months and the next date is set for 18 Bahman 1387 (6th Feb 2009).

 

The experience of previous years and the children’s interest was a motive for Zoroastrians to also work in the field of children’s items and exhibit them.

 

A section of the exhibition was allocated to display of various types of traditional food and sweets of Zoroastrians.

 

Work on glass, fretwork, and other handicraft gave an attractive appearance to the exhibition.
