TEHRAN (Amordadnews): Sadeh should be registered as a national Festival and the whole world should celebrate this day.
Esfandiar eftekhari, Zoroastrian MP, pointing out to the above words, in the Sadeh celebrations, stated: “Sadeh, as the most important festival of Iranians, is a uniting point of all Iranians.  Fir is the biggest creation of God Almighty, and we Iranians are proud of having discovered this element and offered it to humanity.”  Eftekhari requested Rahim Mashaie, Director of the Organization for Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicraft, to register this day as the most ancient festival of Iran.
Rostam Khosraviani, Head of the Tehran Zoroastrian Anjuman, gave a speech about the philosophy of fire, its discovery and ab out preserving and protecting our traditions, for the future generations.  Tooran Shahriyari, the Zoroastrian poet, first spoke about the discovery of fire and the history and meaning of “Sadeh”, then recited her poem named “Sadeh”.
Sadeh was celebrated in the afternoon of Mehrizad Day (10th Bahman) of Bahman month in the Marker Hall, Tehran Pars.  This year too, like previous years, before lighting the fire a few programs were performed, for example, music, group dance by the kids of Parvaresh and Sepand kindergartens, and singing of hymns.
Upon the request of the Anjuman, theZoroastrian Youth Club had prepared a program entitled “Atash Niyayesh”, to be performed during the lighting of the fire, but due to lack of certain coordination this program was not performed.  The fire was finally lit by the Mobeds, while the tambourine was being played by some young Zoroastrians, clad in white and carrying torches.
