Protest of 500 researchers to Obama to stop the
requisition of tomb-stone of Persipolice

TEHRAN (Amordadnews): More than 500 professors of well-known universities and many researchers of Iran and Archeology around the globle have signed the petition for an objective letter posted on European website about requisition on tomb-stones of Persipolice.
On the report of Mr. Mehdi Musavi, lead of media communication of Cultural inheritance, “parts of the tomb-stones and manuscripts of Persipolice, after 70 years still remains in the hand of Chicago university. These tomb-stones were given to Chicago University for studies and research reasons, and to be returned back to Iran. Parts of these valuable monumets were returned back before and after the Iranian revolution but still a lot more of these old tomb-stones remain in their hand.
Mousavi added: “although plenty of these tomb-stones and plates are read, translated and published

He insisted that “This issue is a very in cultural and indecent behavior of requisition of Persipolice
Plates is not acceptable and it's a big concern to the national treasure, which have provoked many Archialogists to sign for the petition that shows their disapprove to the illegal action of American Government. The Research Center Head of Cultural inheritance org. spoke about part of the letter “Regardless of the concern raised by all the Archeologist and Iranian cultural lover from Europe, America and Asian countries, these plates are the Achaemenian era’s cultural inheritance of this country and should not be considered as a local investment. This approach certainly put its real value under doubts. Antiques and valuable items are the countries biggest investments which are to be displayed to people view, so they could realize the legend behind them. ”
Additionally Iran has been in following up with American government to get these monuments back, and therefore this issue has seen so much attention.
Mr. Musavi finally mentioned, that requisition of these tomb-stones by Chicago University in visibility of American government is not beneficial for the further cultural relations between the two countries.
The universities who have signed for this petition are: Harvard, Chicago, Pennsylvania, Seedy, Cambridge, Oxford, Tehran University, Tarbiat Modars, Bolonia University, Napel, Liverpool University, Roam, Hamburg, Germany Archeologist center, Kell University, Austrian Science academy, Vian, New York, Toronto, Berlin, London, Colombia, Michigan and versus university.
