The Meydiaremgah Chahreh started
Zoroastrian service: Kourosh Moradian: By participating in the Vaj Yasht gahanbar, organized by Tehran Zoroastrian Anjuman in Tehran Fire Temple, on 1o Dey (31 December), Tehrani Zoroastrians went to meet the Meydiaremgah chahreh.
The prayers mingled with the prayer sound of the Zoroastrian participants who had arrived in the Fire Temple at dawn, to get together and welcome the 5th chahreh of gahanbar of the year.
The ceremony started with the speech of Mobed Sohrab Hengami, one of the members of Mobed Association and continued with joint prayers of four Mobeds and joining of the participants in the prayers. As the prayers ended ‘huma’ water (prayed) was distributed among all, followed by ‘lork’ and ‘ash’.
Gahanbar is one of the most ancient ceremonies that is come to us from ancient Iran, held in 6 chahreh (6 stages) in the year. Each chahreh lasts for 5 days. Meydiaremgah is the 5th chahreh of gahanbar.
