TEHRAN (Amordadnews):  Sadeh will be celebrated with cooperation of Fravahar Organization and Tehran Zoroastrian Anjuman, in Koushk Varjavand, Karadj.
In the past few years, Sadeh was held either in Marker ground or Tehran Fire temple, but this year, this national festival will again be held in Koushk Varjavand.  As per ratification of the 51st session of the 41st cycle of Tehran Zoroastrian Anjuman, held on 5 January, non Zoroastrian Iranians will also be able to participate in this event.  Of course, according to Rostam Khosraviani, Director of Tehran Zoroastrian Anjuman, in the Zoroastrian community, some object to public celebration of national festivals in Iran and though deciding to hold this festival at a public level was difficult, but according to ratification of the members of the Anjuman Sadeh will be announced as a national and public festival.
According to a statement of one of the members of the Cultural Commission of the Anjuman, we should try our best to make Sadeh into an honorable and remembrable celebration.  This is a festival of the glory of Iran and a celebration for Zoroastrian identity. In conclusion, Rostam Khosraviani requested members of the Cultural Commission to work together with Fravahar Organization for the preparations and present a breakdown of expenses for Anjuman’s approval.  Khosraviani said:  “For participation of non-Zoroastrians we should allocate a covered space.”  Only those who will obtain entrance card from the Anjuman will be able to participate in the celebration.  This day, as usual, will fall on 10 Bahman (30 January) being Mehr Izad Day of Bahman month, in all Zoroastrian inhabiting cities.  Sadeh is the day of mooring fire.  As quoted from Shahnameh, on this day, when King Hooshang threw a flintstone towards a snake to kill it, the stone hit a
dry tree and fire was ignited, and from that day Iranians and later the world learned how to light, moor and use fire
