TEHRAN (Amordadnews):  Zoroastrian mountaineers climbed the 3200 m high Mount Parsoon and stood on its summit.
The Zoroastrian mountaineering group, which has recently been climbing many mountains in Iran and has succeeded to win over most of them, climbed Mount Parsoon to its peak on 18 Dey (9 January).
Parsoon is the name of one of the summits in the Alborz range, situated in ‘Dasht-e Havij’ (carrots field) or ‘Garchal’.  Garchal is a plain in central Alborz, in Tehran province.  The Zoroastrian mountaineering group started off from Afjeh village in Lavasan at 7:45 am and reached the 32oo high summit at 12 noon, while the weather was clear, the sky was blue and Damavand looked even more unreachable than ever.
This ascension was on occasion of Deygan festival.  Tooraj Bastani, Azadeh Namiranian, Arash Sohrabi, Sassan Ejbari and Kambiz Mandegarian were members of the team.  According to Tooraj Bastani, whoever wishes to join this group can become member of their weblog: www.kzz.blogfa.comand receive news of the group, and if interested, can also join the group in climbing the mountains.
