TEHRAN (Amordadnews):  “We should support and encourage those who are forerunners in activities related to our community and are interested in such activities, and should not disappoint them by offending their personalities.”
In the 849th meeting of Yeganegi Center, held on 8 Bahman (28 January), in the conference hall of Tehran Zoroastrian Anjuman, Rostam Khosraviani, Director, said the above and added: “We should not backbite people who spend their precious time to serve the community.  This will discourage them and thus unity and cooperation will be hampered.”
Faramarz Poorrostami, who attended this meeting, referred to the agenda of the previous meeting regarding the WZO and proposals for promoting the content of the congress, and added:  “International public relations is very important and there should be proper education in this field.”
Referring to education as one of the main factors in spreading culture, he said:  “Modern communication systems are among the most necessary factors that should be taught.”
Bamasian also gave a proposal for better organization of the next congress (after 4 years):  “It will be beneficial to establish state Anjumans and assemble every year with the aim of strengthening unity.”
Rostam Yeganegi, son of Esfandiar Yeganegi, the founder of Yeganegi Center, was another participant in the meeting.  He believed that building infrastructure could be a solution for the community problems and said:  “When there is no community and no structure, what is the use of land and property.”
He spoke about the heavy responsibility of a representative of the people and head of the Anjuman and said:  “When you are selected and have accepted a responsibility you should go among the people and learn about the facts of the community. By standing up against and not being present among the people only misunderstanding is created.”
Parviz Fravahar, another participant in the meeting, informed about their plan for holding a gahanbar in Iranshahr School, Kerman and said:  “Mobed Association has agreed to hold this gahanbar and Kerman authorities have also agreed to cooperate.  Now, we only need Tehran Anjuman’s help and request the members to attend this gahanbar.”
Shahbahram Siroosi, ex member of Tehran Zoroastrian Anjuman, spoke about working for the community and said:  “Social work needs interest and not degree.  We should not, without having evidence, talk on the back of those who are doing social work, and thus discourage them and send them home.”
Rostam Khosraviani called the Grand Fire Temple land as a very precious treasure of the Zoroastrian community and referred to the work done for this place upto date.
According to him, for making good use of the Grand Fire Temple, long term and short term plans have been drawn in the Board of Trustees’ meeting.
Khosravinai said:  “The short term program which consisted of renovation of existing buildings in the place, has been finalized and for the long term program certain issues have yet to be solved.”
Regarding the franchise of the Senior Home, Khodamorad Mazdapour, another participant in the meeting, said:  “In the previous cycles of the Anjuman, this franchise has been issued in the name of a legal person instead of a body corporate, which was a mistake”
Referring to the two requests that the 40th cycle of the Anjuman had written to the Welfare Organization for returning the franchise to the Anjuman, he said:  “Welfare Organization has replied to these requests that in order to change the franchise in the name of the Anjuman the person holding the franchise at present should take action first.”
Khosraviani stated that the Board of Trustees of the Senior Home is performing its duties well and added:  “The Senior Home has a letter of endowment based on which the construction work of this Home is the responsibility of the Anjuman.  It is for this reason that the Anjuman is trying, with the help of Esfandiar Ekhtiari, the Zoroastrian MP, to return the franchise to the Anjuman.”
Esfandiar Ekhtiari also stated that putting the Home in the name of a person was a mistake and added:  “This franchise has already been renewed for another 3 years, and the best way to return the franchise to the Anjuman is that the present franchise holder cooperates with the Anjuman to initiate appropriate action.”
Khosraviani then spoke about the rental fee of Qasr Firoozeh land, and considering the expansive land that has been given to the Revolutionary Guards and the comparatively petty amount of rent received from them, he said:  “The Qasr Firoozeh land measure 44 million sqm but rent for this land paid to the Anjuman is petty.  The Anjuman lawyers are working on increasing the rental fee and will report to the Anjuman duly.”
He continued:  “The Revolutionary Guards should also pay the rent for the buildings that they have built on this land.”
Rostam Khodabakhshi, one of the participants in the meeting, said:  “The Anjuman secretariat should prepare a list of all charitable donors and a ceremony should be held for them, and all members of the community should be informed to participate in this ceremony.  Many of us were not informed of the demise of the wife of Fereidoon Zartoshti.”
