For the second consecutive year
Prominent Zoroastrian personalities were introduced

TEHRAN (Amordadnews):   Lasting personalities of the Zoroastrian community were introduced for the second consecutive year.
Mehraban Firoozgari, Dowlat Nikmanesh, Hormozdyar Hormozdyari and Ardeshir Farahmand were the four prominent personalities which were selected in this year’s festival. 
In a ceremony for commemoration of prominent personalities of the Zoroastrian community, which was held on 15 Bahman (4 February), in Khosravi Hall, Tehran, Esfandiar Ekhtiari, the Zoroastrian MP, gave a speech, in which he said that the philosophy and experiences of the community will take a community forward in various sections of human knowledge.
He added:  “A lot of slogans are given behind the tribune but the reality is something else.  Reality is experience and knowledge.”
In this year’s ceremony Mehraban Firoozgari, Dowlat Nikmanesh, Hormozdyar Hormozdyari and Ardeshir Farahmand were commemorated.
Ferdows Kaviani was also to be included in the list but he was not able to attend the ceremony.  In last year’s  ceremony Parviz Shariyari, Bouzarjomehr Mehr and Tooran Bahrami were introduced
 




Mobed Mehraban Firoozgari:
He had his schooling upto the 4th grade in Iran.  He then went to India and continued his education upto graduation in electronics.  After 10 years of work in India he returned to Iran in 1968 and started attending the classes conducted by late Mobed Azargoshasb.  This was how he nurtured his interest in religious matters.
In his speech he said that his only wish was happiness for all.


 
Dr Dowlat Nikmanesh:
She has two brothers and one sister.  One of her brothers passed away.  She finished her schooling in Guiv and Anushirvan schools.  She was active in sports programs of her high school and won a silver and gold medal for her school.  She continued her education if Physical Education and was among the first four ladies who succeeded in gaining Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education.  She found a job as sports coach in Noorbakhsh High School and after 8 years of service received a medal from the then Minister of Physical Education.  After 8 years she was transferred to Tehran University and after 16 years service received scholarship in Washington where she gained PhD degree.  She returned to Iran as the first Iranian lady with PhD in Physical Education.  After the revolution she continued her services in the university.  She retired after 31 years of service.


 
Ardeshir Farahmand:
He was born in Kerman and taught for many years in high school.
In his speech Farahmand read a letter written by Arbab Kaykhosrow Shahrokh addressed to the candidates of membership in the Anjuman in 1289 (1910).  He spoke about his experiences and memories of the great men of our community.



Hormozdyar Hormozdyari:
He was born in 1922, in Yazd.  He has two sons by the names of Kaykhosrow and Jamshid.  He had his schooling in Yazd and in his last year of high school he came to Alborz High School.
He graduated in Law from Tehran University.  He is a registered lawyer.  He has been Chief Editor of Fravahar magazine for the past 30 years, upto the present.  He is member of the Board of Trustees of Rostam Bagh and member of Board of Directors of Ashtad Motorbike Co., and member of Board of Directors of Givar Profile.  His main occupation is in AEG Company, as finance manager.
